| - Deku Babas (デクババ Deku Baba?) are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series. They are a species of carnivorous plants, somewhat similar in appearance to the real-life Venus Flytrap and Piranha Plants from the Super Mario Bros. series. In every game they have appeared in, Deku Babas have blue heads and pink mouths and only slightly vary in appearance. Deku Babas sprout from the ground whenever their roots detect any potential prey. They attack by quickly lashing out at an enemy without provocation. Depending on the game and method used to defeat one, a fallen Deku Baba will often yield a Deku Stick, Deku Nut, or Deku Seeds.
- Deku Baba are carnivorous plants found within The Legend of Zelda series, originating in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. They somewhat resemble Piranha Plants. They will either attack straight up or lunge forward. Once Young Link becomes Adult Link, Deku Baba become larger and fiercer. The small ones drop Deku Seeds and Deku Sticks while the larger ones drop Deku Sticks and Deku Nuts. They attack Link by bitting him. In Twilight Princess, Deku Babas have the same attacks as in Ocarina of Time, but they will hold onto Link if they bite him meaning that the only way to get free is to use a Spin Attack. There is also brown Baba enemy called Baba Serpent that is more resilent and will continue to pursue Link while they are on the ground. In Skyward Sword, Deku Babas require a different strategy in order to be defeated. Depending on which position the Deku Baba's mouth is open, it needs to be cut that way. For example, if its open horizontally, Link must swing his sword horizontally since swinging the sword vertically will not work. Link can also simply stab their mouth, but it only results half damage on the Deku Baba. The golden Deku Babas also known as Quadro Babas are more vicious, more aggressive than Deku Babas and need 3 strikes instead of one with the goddess sword and are able attack twice in one turn at rapid speed. Quadro Babas will also change positions when they close their mouth to confuse the player. They also have a nasty ability to dodge Link's sword and then counterattack making them slightly more difficult than Deku Babas.

A Deku Baba will not hesitate to headbutt, bite, and spray toxic spores at animals entering its territory. Sometimes, a Deku Baba will stand upright, using its thorned stalk to protect itself while twirling madly.
