William Arnold Hadden Hows (25 July 1798 - 1884) was a silversmith, pawnbroker and local politician. Born in Shadwell, he established his business in St Giles in the Fields, later moving to Shoreditch. He became a vestryman for parish of the St Leonard Shoreditch and was the area's representative on the Metropolitan Board of Works from 1855-1859 and 1865-1871. He was also a member of the parish burial board and served as chairman oof the Shoreditch Board of Guardians. By the time of the 1881 census he was retired and living almshouses in West Ham, where he died in 1884.
