P.S. is a mech somewhere between an A.M.W.S. and an E.S. In Xenosaga I & II, it is revealed that Hermann's and Richard's A.M.W.S., Scutum and Pilum, are "borrowing" the Vessels of Anima from the U-TIC Organization mechs, E.S. Joseph and E.S. Gad, respectively. As such, these new mechs, neither A.M.W.S. nor E.S., are now dubbed P.S. Joseph and P.S. Gad.

The concept of a P.S. mech was hinted at in Episode II when Hermann rescues Margulis after he is defeated by Jin, Shion, and their friends. When Margulis jumps on Scutum, a close up shot of its chest plate reveals the writing "PS Joseph - ORMUS" on it.
