Red was the commander of the Blood Brothers, a unit in the Grand Army of the Republic who joined him in opposing the Galactic Empire. Red served under Jedi General Aron Kel, and was a freethinking, tough, and aggressive trooper. Yet his noteworthy individuality aside, Red followed his orders without question like the rest of the soldiers. Red was also good friends with most his fellow clone captains. Under General Kel, Red would go to many different planets throughout the galaxy. Red assisted High General Kit Fisto during the Battle of Mon Calamari, when he worked with the Mon Calamari to root out a Quarren spy, and later led the Blood Brothers during the Confederacy's multiple counterattacks. Red also met Fisto's Padawan, Nhadar Vebb, after he arrived on Mon Calamari. Red also participated in the Battle of Bothawui, where he was one of the few clone survivors before reinforcements arrived. During inspections of Republic bases, Red encountered a squad of droids that had taken over a small base in the Outer Rim, and led the Blood Brothers to retake the base. Red participated in the Battle of Dantooine, and later assisted Mace Windu during a mission to destroy a Confederacy listening post—and was one of the few clone captains to survive the mission. Red also fought during the Battle of Coruscant, when he commanded the Blood Brothers on the ground. He was then posted to Ryloth, where he received Order 66. However, Red had learned to be more individualistic in his thinking and did not carry out the order. He informed Aron Kel of Palpatine's intentions and, after finishing with the Separatist forces on Ryloth, they and the Blood Brothers went into hiding on Dxun. Some years later, Red was informed of the Alliance to Restore the Republic that intended to oppose the Galactic Empire. He, Kel and the Blood Brothers immediately left Dxun to find the alliance. After sending word that he had a Jedi with him, he was contacted by the Alliance, who told him to find them on Dantooine. Red arrived on the planet and joined the Alliance. He commanded the Alliance's forces during the earliest missions and battles of the war, almost always achieving victory due to his in-depth knowledge of clone tactics. Eventually, the Alliance was forced to leave Dantooine and relocate on Yavin 4. Some time later, the Empire found the base. Red commanded the Blood Brothers during the Battle of Yavin and was among the pilots who flew the X-wings in the battle. After the Alliance's victory, Red became a good friend of Han Solo. This friendship continued throughout the rest of their lives. Three years later, Red and his squad were on Hoth. As they were preparing to leave to gather more recruits for the Alliance, the Empire attacked the planet. Red and the Blood Brothers were among the Alliance forces who fought against the Imperial stormtroopers. Red was on the last transport to leave the planet and went to Tatooine to link up with the rest of the Alliance. He was then posted to serve on Home One and continued here until the Battle of Endor, when he requested to serve on the ground. The request was granted to him and he and the Blood Brothers fought on the ground at Endor with the Ewoks. Red captained the Brothers during the battle and ensured minimal casualties for his forces. Red fought during the rest of the Galactic Civil War, eventually seeing victory assured and becoming a captain in the army of the New Republic. He held this position during the Yuuzhan Vong War. At the height of the war, he was captured by the Vong and held prisoner until he was rescued by Han Solo. However, the pair was found by the Vong while escaping. Red covered Han's escape, killing the Vong pursuing them. He eventually managed to escape and returned to command the Blood Brothers. Red was killed shortly before the end of the Yuuzhan Vong War. The Blood Brothers honored him at his funeral with a gun salute.
