- Skeletal wyverns are NPC's located in the high level Slayer dungeon. They are a high level Slayer task but are commonly killed for their bones. The Skeletal Wyvern used to be a very popular monster to capture as it was highly effective to use in the minigame Soul Wars. It is much more common to find players using Frost Dragons, Borks, or King Black Dragons now.
- Level 72 Slayer is required to kill them. In order to negate their heavily damaging ice-breath an elemental, mind, body, cosmic, chaos, or Dragonfire shield needs to be equipped. Using Wyrmfire potions, Protect from Magic, or Deflect Magic is also an alternative. Antifire, super antifire, and brightfire potions do not work. Killing a Skeletal Wyvern is one of the hard Falador Tasks as well as for the wish list of the Odd Old Man in the Fur 'n' Seek quest. Their living counterparts reside deeper in the same cave.
- Level 72 Slayer is required to kill them. An elemental, mind, body, cosmic, chaos, or Dragonfire shield (not an anti-dragon shield) must be equipped when fighting wyverns closeup, or else the player will be hit for very high damage. Antifire potions do not work against their icy breath, unless it is combined into a Wyrmfire potion. The Protect from Magic prayer or Deflect Magic curse will reduce damage taken from the breath to less than 200, similar to Dragonfire. They are only found in the Asgarnian ice dungeon, in the chamber accessed from the southern wall of the icy area.
