He was the artist who illustrated Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass (which are adapted into Thru the Mirror, Adventures in Wonderland and Alice in Wonderland (1951 and 2010 versions)), as well as being one of the illustrators for Aesop's Fables (in which The Grasshopper and the Ants, The Tortoise and the Hare (and its sequel) and The Country Cousin have been adapted for Silly Symphony shorts) and One Thousand and One Nights (in which "Aladdin's Wonderful Lamp" has been adapted for Aladdin and the "Arabian Nights" have been adapted for the Miramax version of The Thief and the Cobbler).
