The Chapter was believed to have found itself on the wrong side of that conflict through little fault of its own, and was eventually permitted by the High Lords of Terra to continue in its service to the Imperium after a suitable penance. abstract
| - Executioners are the creations of Luther Lansfeld and the Sphere Corporation designed to eliminate threats in the Eternal Sphere. They are sent to destroy the Milky Way Galaxy as it is considered "corrupt" after humans have advanced too far, manipulating genes with Symbological Power. Three main types of Executioners appear: Proclaimers: Executioners that resemble angels, these get their name because they proclaim the destruction of the galaxy. First appear at Moonbase. Enforcers: Executioners that resemble large winged demons, these get their name because they enforce the will of the creator, annihilating the inhabitants of the Milky Way. Enforcers are shown to be incredibly powerful, easily overwhelming the fleets of the Pangalactic Federation, even destroying the battleship Aquaelie in a single blow. Convictors: Executioners created by the use of Blair's failed shutdown program. Although smaller in stature, the Convictors are far more powerful than both Enforcers and Proclaimers.
- After the Dark Elf victory against the High Elves at the siege of Har Ganeth, countless prisoners of war were dragged onto blooded altars and sacrificed to the Blood Handed God. A number of these were sacrificed at the hands of Dark Elves with great swords. The denizens of the city were delighted to see the severed heads fall from the altars of their beloved God. Public executions have been a common feature there ever since, earning Har Ganeth its second name -- the City of Executioners. The executioners of the Har Ganeth have since mastered their art. When they aren't guarding the city they are away training how to better eviscerate their foes. It is said that the most accomplished of their number can kill a foe with a single strike, may it be through decapitation, disembowelment or a blade to the heart. They are not visibly sadistic, they see their role as a religious duty. Consequently, the Executioners never make sport of their victims.
- The Executioners of Khaine (Druhir: Draichyr na Khaine), are the guards and elite forces of the city of Har Ganeth. They worship Khaine in his aspect of the executioner, slaughtering their enemies in his name. Their captain is Tullaris.
