| - Cortyni was a Human female member of the Fallanassi and a mentor of Rin Sakaros. Born on Anaxes, Cortyni was a rebellious young woman, highly resistant to the strict and structured life her parents expected of her and the militant culture of Anaxes itself. At the age of fifteen, she stowed aboard a ship bound offworld to escape. Fleeing from the law, she made her way to Pydyr, seeking the legendary Fallanassi and their famous distaste for any form of authority. Determing the girl to be Force-sensitive, the Fallanassi adopted her into their order, teaching her their ways. By the age of thirty-one, Cortyni was already among the most talented of the order, a gifted illusionist who could influence the minds of many at once and cloak her presence from detection almost infallibly. In 72 ABY, Rin Sakaros arrived on Pydyr to study the Fallanassi illusion techniques. Many Fallanassi agreed to teach the young woman what they knew, but she and Cortyni became closest, and Cortyni helped Rin master illusion-weaving abilities. Already a talented and well-trained mentalist, Rin took quickly to the ability to bend the minds of those around her to see what she wished them to see. Her success with concealing her Force presence was more limited; though she could prevent non-Force-sensitives from seeing or remembering her, she only had the ability to reduce, not altogether hide, her Force signature. Rin felt she was so powerful that her presence could never be entirely hidden, but Cortyni felt Rin's unwillingness to commit entirely to the White Current philosophy was holding her back. Cortyni and Rin engaged in numerous philosophical debates, both about violence and pacifism and the Fallanassi distaste for authority. Still something of a rebel, Cortyni staunchly refused to accept any governing authority over herself, while Rin felt a single strong ruler was the best form of government for the galaxy. Neither had much success in persuading the other; indeed, debating their viewpoints and considering replies to one another made them both stronger in their initial convictions. Rin departed the Fallanassi in 73 ABY. Cortyni remained among them, continuing to mentor new recruits. Her ultimate fate was unknown.
