| Synopsis
| - Across the US-Mexican border, a woman struggles to keep up her job in an assembly factory, accidentally breaking one of the Christmas ornaments she'd been making. One too many mistakes, the foreman throws her out. She returns home, where her mother and two children are not faring well. Hoping to buy medicine for her baby, she arrives too late to the pharmacy, and receives no help from the owner. Before long, her baby is dead. At his funeral, a relative suggests she move to Gotham City, but she rejects the advice.
Soon, her daughter becomes ill as well. Realizing she has little choice, if she wants to see her daughter survive, she decides to go to Gotham, via an illegal human-smuggling ring. En route, the men bringing them across the border sell them to slavers, who separate the woman from her mother and child.
Eventually, sick girl and her grandmother are working in a sweatshop with a view of Gotham Square, ironically making Christmas ornaments on an assembly line. Hearing her granddaughter's coughing one night, the older woman seeks to escape and get help, but is caught, receiving a stab wound before falling from a high window into an alley. Somehow, though, she manages to drag herself away. Angrily, The Penguin punishes his men for allowing her to escape.
Meanwhile, the stumbling and wounded grandmother collapses in the street, and is found by the Batman. Crumpled in her hand, he discovers a flyer for the workshop where her family is being kept, and becomes enraged that this could be going on in his city.
The girl wakes in her bed to the sound of an alarm, and prays for an angel to save her. The Batman comes instead, smashing through a window, and upon realizing how poor her health is, takes her directly to the hospital.
Back at the sweatshop, he makes an attack against the slavers, freeing the children. Though they escape, he ends up caught in the slavers' nets, and captured. When the Penguin learns what his men have caught for him, he is elated.

| - En alguna parte del mundo, aparentemente México, existe una familia compuesta por una abuela, una madre y sus dos hijas, la cual una de ella aun es una bebé. La madre, para mantener a sus dos niñas trabaja en una fábrica de adornos navideños, pero cuando es despedida le resulta incapaz de pagar la medicina que su pequeña necesita y lamentablemente la bebé se le muere. thumb|left|318pxDespués del funeral, la madre recibe de manos de alguien una oportunidad para colarse por la frontera e ir a trabajar a Ciudad Gótica donde la espera una vida mejor. Pero eso no sucede ya que el camión en el que viajaban fue interceptado por un grupo de traficantes de personas quienes separan a la madre de su hija y la abuela. La madre pasa a formar parte de una red de prostitución, mientras que la abuela y su hija , la cual esta muy enferma, son obligados a trabajar duramente confeccionando adornos navideños en un taller ilegal. La abuela, viendo en el estado en que se encuentra su nieta, trata de para conseguir ayuda pero es vista por uno de los guardias quien la apuñala para que muera, pero aun estando herida la anciana logra abrirse paso a la libertad, algo que no le cae bien al líder de toda esa operación: El Pingüino quien termina matando al sujeto que le da esa mala noticia. La anciana moribunda logra encontrarse con Batman, quien estaba siguiendo de cerca las operaciones de Cobblepot. Con sus ultimas fuerzas la anciana le entrega una foto de su familia y le pide al héroe que las salve. Consumido por la ira Batman finalmente encuentra la fábrica donde estaban explotando a los inmigrantes y rescata a la niña para llevarla hasta un hospital, para a continuación, volver a la fábrica y acabar con toda la escoria que se atrevieron a cortarle la libertad a esas personas inocentes. Batman ayuda a todos los trabajadores de la fábrica a escapar, pero en el exterior se encuentra con un montón de matones fuera, quienes le disparan con armas lanza redes y logran capturarlo. Finalmente Batman es colocado dentro de una jaula y es enviado a las garras del Pingüino .
