- The Obliterator is a robot that is big enough to destroy a planet. It was made by Chairman Drek then used by both Darth Vader and Tachyon. No one knows what the hell it does no more, but who cares. It was rumoured that it now goes around busting planets it hates for no reason and that the only people that can destroy it are Darth Vader, Rick, Clark, Scratchhit, Wank Spank, Ratchet and Clank. The Obliterator is called the Obliterator can destroy so much that it became a renegade.

- The Obliterator is a Strogg anti-vehicle weapon that is analogous to a rocket launcher. It launches high-explosive projectiles that can be fired "dumb", or locked onto a vehicle or deployed structure in order to home in. Dumb firing requires a slight warmup before launch, whereas guided rockets can be fired immediately after target lock. Obliterator rockets cannot apparently be spontaneously generated by a trooper, but are replenished whenever the trooper picks up a Stroyent cell dropped by a Strogg Technician.
- The Obliterator was an Imperial-class Star Destroyer serving in the starfleet of the Imperial Remnant at least fifteen years after the Battle of Endor. Under the command of Captain Trazzen, this was one of four Braxant Sector Fleet Star Destroyers—the others were the Relentless, the Tyrannic and the Ironhand—that pledged its allegiance to a recuperated Grand Admiral Thrawn, who was in fact a con-artist named Flim. Its mission was to exploit the Caamas Document Crisis in order to begin a civil war within the New Republic. In that capacity, Obliterator was outfitted with a cloaking shield. The plan was to spark the conflict over the Bothan homeworld of Bothawui, but the plan was foiled and the Star Destroyers were ordered to retreat.

- Five billion years ago, the Obliterator discovered that he was immortal and gave a meaning to his life by tracking and killing all of the people of his species but himself; that would keep him busy while he was developing new means of destruction. He eventually found the Gardener, who introduced him to others like them, immortal monomaniacs known as the Elders of the Universe. None of them could die because of a special agreement with Death.
- The first Obliterators are often thought to once have been Techmarines of the Emperor’s elite Adeptus Astartes during the Horus Heresy. Obliterators are known to be obsessed with the merging of the material and the immaterial, the organic and inorganic. Using knowledge gleaned from their pact with the Ruinous Powers, and with the techno-arcane methods of the Dark Mechanicus, Obliterators have managed to blur the line between man and machine, and mortal and daemon.
