| - Samuel is a Goth, through and through. Although known as a hard-working, ambitious man, Samuel also has a bit of an insane streak. Most people attribute this streak to his sudden marriage to a woman much younger and poorer than he. Samuel hasn't let his death from his favorite snack slow him down – he's still as ambitious as ever. He likes to attend events around town to make sure people know that even though he's less than corporeal, he's still an important part of this town. He met Helen at a psychic convention, and the two quickly became very good friends. When Samuel learned Helen didn't have a place to stay, he offered her a room, a little to the dismay of Olivia.

Unfortunately for everyone in the house, he died after being poisoned by his favorite treats. His distraught wife, distracted by her despair, accidentally electrocuted herself, and it caused a fire that killed Frida. This is stated in Frida and Olivia's bios. However, even if he is a ghost, Samuel still wants to show that he is an important part of the town. Samuel once went to a medium convention and met Helen there. The two bonded rather well, and when he learned that she had no roof to sleep under, he invited her to live in his manor. He is unemployed at the start of the game, and he has 6 points in Logic. He is one of the few men in the Goth family not to have a first name ending with the letter 'R'. As he is the uncle of Frida Goth and Gunther Goth, he is Victor Goth's brother. This would make him the great-uncle of Mortimer Goth and the great-great-uncle of Cassandra and Alexander Goth He also shares the grumpy trait with his niece, nephew, niece-in-laws and grand-nephew. The difference in age between Olivia and Samuel Goth may be an allusion to the marriage between Michael Bachelor and Dina Caliente, who are in elder and adult stages respectively in The Sims 2 (with the young adult age span only being acceptable in University neighborhoods) .
