  • John W. Burton (August 18, 1906 – June 1, 1978) was an American cinematographer and producer, well-known for his work at Warner Bros. Cartoons. He was employed at Leon Schlesinger Productions as a cameraman, technician and general troubleshooter. He was promoted to production manager in 1944 after Warner Bros. bought out Schlesinger's studio and renaming it Warner Bros. Cartoons. In 1958, after Eddie Selzer retired, Burton was promoted to producer and accepted the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Subject for Knighty Knight Bugs in 1958. In 1960, he left Warner Bros. and became an executive at Pacific Title and Art, which Schlesinger founded. Following his departure, David H. DePatie took over his place as producer.
