While the use of Plasma weapons freed soldiers from the need to carry projectile ammunition, the inherent instability of plasma gas meant the CT-AR was notoriously difficult to aim. For the well-trained Private Guard of Warmaster Corporation, however, this was not a problem. The CT-AR's were powerful and deadly in the hands of the specially trained Private Guard.

| - While the use of Plasma weapons freed soldiers from the need to carry projectile ammunition, the inherent instability of plasma gas meant the CT-AR was notoriously difficult to aim. For the well-trained Private Guard of Warmaster Corporation, however, this was not a problem. The CT-AR's were powerful and deadly in the hands of the specially trained Private Guard. The weapon's plasma gas cartridge carried enough gas for approximately 500 shots, depending on the power settings of the weapon (The normal power setting shot 50 rounds per gas cartridge). It fired blue plasma bolts, that ripped through shielding like a Knife through butter. The CT-AR could interface with the helmets of Troops to provide a video gunsight on the trooper's helmet display. Mounted on a tripod, the maximum effective range of a CT-AR was 600 meters (1968 ft). On maximum power, a shot from a CT-AR could leave a 0.5 meter hole in most walls.
