| - Shortly after Commmander Shepard had destroyed the Collector Base to ensure Cerberus would not use it for their personal gains, Nephamus, one of the many remaining Collectors alive after the attack, had managed to gain self-awareness after Harbinger released control over the Collector general before the base was destroyed. Using what was left of a shuttle from the ships, he left the debris field and found himself near the Omega 4 Relay. Left unclear of what to do, his shuttle was hit just when he used the other relay to quickly travel to another system where he crashed onto an unspecified forest planet. Regaining conscious, he finds himself having gained the respect of the varren pack that found him. Nephamus uses the pack to invade the Blood Pack base, along with retrieving their ship shuttle to leave the planet. Before leaving, he meets the mercenaries human captive, Reo. After learning a Cerberus unit is hunting him, he quickly leaves the planet, leaving Reo behind to the Cerberus search party. Traveling to the Armstrong System, his shuttle unknowingly shuts down, leaving it adrift until the Systems Alliance ship, SSV Stuttgart discovers it. Nephamus wakes up before the ships medical staff could properly conduct an autopsy to determine the species he is. The ships captain, later tells him that the ship is headingto Earth for further investigation, causing erratic behavior. Attempting to use the relay, the ship is attacked by another collector, who was sent to kill Nephamus to prevent the discovery of the collectors' existence. In the panic, Nephamus uses the time to grab the ship's shuttle and escape when Thanaton is killed from being sucked out of the airlock after being forcibly pushed in. Unable to take in the previous events, Nephamus prepares to kill himself.
