The Battle of Kyuden Asako was the last battle of the Army of Fire in the Phoenix lands. After the Battle of the Burning Palace the yobanjin turned on Kyuden Asako. A Lion army under the command of Akodo Setai was preparing to defend the palace when Isawa Fosuta appeared and killed many of the Yobanjin attackers. Fosuta then asked Setai to join him, when the Lion refused he became enraged, killing many of Setai's troops. Togashi Matsuo, who had disappeared after the Battle of Shiro Mirumoto with a crisis of faith, returned to fight the raiders.
