Gas canisters are Forerunner-built devices. They were most noticeably seen at the gas mine and were presumably used by the Forerunner for the containment and distribution of gas, but some empty canisters were also seen on Installation 05. The gas could then be harnessed as a source of power, or stored for later purposes.

  • A gas canister is a junk item in Fallout 4.
  • The Gas Canister is a poisonous thrown weapon introduced in Worms 3D, and reappears in Worms 4: Mayhem and Worms: Ultimate Mayhem. It consists of an orange, rough, spherical orb with small canisters protruding from its surface. Like the grenade, it's a thrown weapon and the fuse timer can be set by the player, from 1 to 5 seconds (however, in the PC version of all 3 games, the fuse timer cannot be set by the player, as the Gas Canister automatically goes off in 5 seconds). Rather than exploding when its fuse is up, the Gas Canister bursts and releases a cloud of toxic green vapors, poisoning enemy (and friendly) worms in the radius. Note that although it appears to leave a trail of gas behind it, worms will not be affected by this, only the plume of gas that occurs after the fuse has ended
