The USS Nightingale was a 24th century Federation starship built along with nineteen other Hippocrates-class hospital ships. It was staffed mainly by civilian doctors and nurses who volunteered their services during the Dominion War. ("Nightingale's Song") The Nightingale served with distinction in the opening months of the Dominion War, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Blake Marion. The ship was assumed lost with the destruction of the Seventh Fleet, but managed to survive for two weeks behind enemy lines.

It is believed that the Nightingale rescued an operative of Section 31 from the planetoid MN-1375. However the report was not confirmed.
