Type-Zero Film, known in Japanese as Reishiki firumu (zero type film), is a film type that can be loaded into the Camera Obscura for use in battling ghosts. Many film types exist and each vary in their degree of power, loading time, and scarcity. Type-Zero film is the strongest, and subsequently rarest, film type in the Fatal Frame series. To balance its critically high exorcismal power, its reloading time has been greatly reduced, analogous to that of Type-07 Film's reloading time. With a carefully aimed shot, a ghost can be exorcised with one shot using type-zero film, however, its extreme rarity better suits it to be saved for stronger ghosts.

Type-zero film was first introduced in Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly and appears in all subsequent games. It takes the place that Type-90 Film had in Fatal Frame as the strongest film type, and adopts the same gold coloration. Also like type-90 film in Fatal Frame, it is only found in limited, typically hard-to-reach locations.
