  • The Indefatigable class was a Solarian class of battlecruiser.
  • After the groundbreaking appearance of its predecessors, this second class of British battlecruisers was created as an improved and enlarged version of the Invincible class, with a longer endurance, a rearranged armour protection and an optimized turret placement for better firing arcs. Two of them were built for service in the navies of His Majesties dominions New Zealand and Australia, and thus received their names. All three have already seen much action in the current conflict, HMS Indefatigable took part in the hunt for SMS Goeben, and New Zealand was engaged in the successful battles of Heligoland and the Dogger Bank. The ships were commissioned from 1911 to 1913.
