Gambler's Chance was a card game popular in Tortall, particularly in Corus and Port Caynn, around the middle of the third century of the Human Era. It came up in 247 HE and was invented by Dale Rowan. With the sailors and Dale it became popular in both Port Caynn and Corus and probably on other places around the Olorun River. People, amongst them members of the Court of the Rogue in Corus, have been getting false coin through this game. The coin originally came from Port Caynn and was distributed through this game by Hansevor Remy and his caravan guards playing it on their travels.

There were four different sets of cards for this game: Moon, Sun, Coins and Swords. Each set had its nobles--King, Queen, Lady, and Knight--as well as cards numbered from one to ten. There also was one Trickster card for the entire deck; this card could be any card its holder claimed it to be.
