- Time Lord names a member of the oligarchic rulers of the planet Gallifrey, the Gallifreyans. Less frequently in the Doctor Who BBC television series they are referred to as Lords of Time or Chronarchs. Gallifreyans possess one the oldest and mightiest civilisations in the universe. As the Time Lords, they held absolute power for some ten million years. Intervention by all thirteen incarnations of the Doctor placed the Time Lords in suspended animation.

- The Time Lords (sometimes known as Lords of Time, or Gallifreyans) are a sapient humanoid race from the planet Gallifrey, so called because of their ability to manipulate time and space through technology more advanced than most other civilizations. They are an extremely ancient and advanced race, and are believed to be the creators of time travel. The main character of the British science fiction series Doctor Who is a member of this race.
- Time lords are superhumanly intellegent, fast (the Doctor does an AWFUL lot of running and doesn't even break a sweat), and strong to some degree (has been able to karate chop a brick with ease). They have photographic memory and have a near-infinite knowledge of the universe. Their civilization is over 1 billion years old. Time Lords possess a special "sense" which can allow them to sense temporal paradoxes/anomalies or whether a point in time is "fixed" or in "flux". This "time-sense" is one of the reasons why Time Lords are the only species with time-travel technologies, in that they don't mess up the time-line(doing so will blow a hole in the universe). - The Time Lord was the first Lord to be created, and in turn is believed to have the most control over the universe, as, in the words of Ethian Eltii, he is "the chair that everything sits on", basically meaning that he holds the universe together. Enuch has complete control over anything and everything bound by time, and thus also has complete control over eternity. This means that the things he can do are almost limitless.

In the next 300 years, the Time Lords were already a very advance civilization with machinery, and advance technological advancements.
