Micronauts was inspired by a line of toys created by Takara in Japan and produced by Mego in the US. Most of the main characters are based on the toys; despite that, the series (particularly the first 11 issues) is a cult classic. Unfortunately, because of licensing problems, this series was reprinted only once, and the same characters are now called Microns. Volume 1 of the series was 59 issues, with 2 annuals, 5 reprint issues (reprinting issues 1-12), and a 4-issue miniseries with the X-Men.
