  • Mercenaries hail from all races and backgrounds, though are most commonly turians, humans, batarians, or krogan. Given that their occupation requires them to be efficient and capable, mercenaries tend to use superior weapons and armor, meaning their equipment is usually produced by a variety of manufacturers (unlike military forces, which prefer to select equipment from a single company). Mercenaries are usually found at their bases on remote worlds, or protecting their employer's investments or operations.

Unlike the guilds of old however, these mercenaries were commonly used by the Colonial Rite of the Templar Order, although this was not an exclusive arrangement.
  • MERCENARIES This newsfile's to detail the IC and OOC situation for mercenaries in Multiverse Crisis MUSH as well as some suggestions for making them work. MERCENARIES - IC ICly both factions are supergiantic megapowers with armies beyond any Earthern scale. In general, mercenaries just aren't needed as often except for at the PCs scale. Even then the factions would normally like to either use their own people or longterm contracts above their want for single hire wonders. MERCENARIES - OOC LONG TERM CONTRACTS SUGGESTIONS
  • Mercenaries are fairly powerful units, often based off the unique units of one or more powers. Most of them will exclusively cost wealth, and although many have halved hitpoints and armour and all have no LOS, they all have one advantage, and that is their spectacular train rate. So for the more business-minded factions such as Burgundy, Byzantium, Venice, Japan and Poland which all have added wealth, mercenaries are a viable unit for recruitment. Of these, the former two tend to rely heavily on them quite a bit and can easily summon the right tool for the right job whenever pressed for it.
  • In the Ancient World many nations used mercenaries to help fill their ranks. For example the Roman military hired mercenaries in the Greco-Roman War. Mikhael Egorii warband included : Sauromatae Fat Aexsdzhytae (Sarmatian Horse-Archers) Rauxsa-alanna Baexdzhyntae (Roxolani Riders) These units would be used to deal more of a striking blow to more well equipped units. As raiders this unit would be perfect to smash supply lines. In other nations, such as the Egyptian Empire and the Antigonid Empire would use those who would migrate into their borders. Often giving those that did this with land grants.
  • If recruited from taverns, they will demand an initial fee which is based on the type of mercenaries and number available. The more mercenaries you find at once, the better deal they will offer. If you do not have enough money for the whole group, they will allow you to hire only as many of them as you can currently afford. In With Fire & Sword, mercenaries are much more common in war parties other than the player's compared to the first games. Mercenaries are still hired the same way.
  • Mercenaries have worked all across Immorren ever since the old Warlords era, when the nations known as the Iron Kingdoms of today were still far from forming. • Once a mercenary is available, four choices will be displayed when starting a quest, with various specific rewards for random lengths of time. Some possible quests may be repeated. • Training: Mercenaries are highly trained killers that sometimes you can trust. If you want to profit from the crisis, you have to be highly trained in gun specializing, martial arts, explosives etc. Advertising: In a crisis, finding work is hard to do. • Mercenaries are the most prolific in using firearms and assault-based weaponry and gadgets to deal with their enemies. They are physically strong and are deadly in both ranged and close-quarters combat (CQC). Not only are their weapons powerful, but they possess a melee attack with enough force to knock over a Spy. Despite their powerful combat training, however, they are not the most agile compared to their Spy counterparts. They cannot crouch to fit into ventilation shafts, climb poles and scale walls like Spies, along with many other physical maneuvers enabling them to traverse the environment. Instead, they rely on assault and action strength to best their enemies, as well as tactical cooperation to deal with foes.
