A Wind kami played by Rhiannon Sperling in The Five Moons of Japan. * Pronounced: NOH-zoh-mee * "Hope" in Japanese You are the most kind-hearted rogue kami in Nippon. Born 235 years ago from a strong breeze that blew all the petals from a flower towards the sun, you spent your early days wandering around and meeting people. You rarely formed lasting relationships, but you liked that fleeting feeling of being there one moment and gone the next, knowing that you had left some impression on them as you loved helping people. When Amaterasu disappeared 25 years later, you went into help-overdrive, scouring the outermost edges of Nippon first and then working your way to the center. On your first run, you encountered an Earth kami child named Tsunade the Badger, for whom you made a detour

When Amaterasu disappeared 25 years later, you went into help-overdrive, scouring the outermost edges of Nippon first and then working your way to the center. On your first run, you encountered an Earth kami child named Tsunade the Badger, for whom you made a detour in taking her to civilization. Every year you make these rounds, usually stopping to visit White Moon and the half-mortal descendants of yours. About 120 years ago, you finally decided to choose your first kami mate. Zaku the Hawk was definitely a kami in need, having just lost his first mate, the Water kami Tsunami. For the first time, however, your kindness was not enough healing power to repair the breaking soul, even after you bore him a daughter, Gale (currently with White Moon). It was with a heavy heart that his friend Kagerou the Phoenix informed you of his Fading 20 years later. Though he carried one last memento of Zaku, his Beast Mask, you dared not ask for it and decided to move on, like all kamis should. 10 years later, you encountered another troubled near-fading soul, a Wind kami named Karasu the Crow. His sister Tengu the Lark had recently disappeared and he kept muttering about “she said she’d bring back the green glow”; this green glow turned out to be sunshine against Nippon’s flora from above. Having seen the glisten of the moonlight against the sea countless times, you decided to show it to him in the hopes that you would not repeat Zaku’s tragedy. It worked. Karasu did not Fade and the two of you have become the best of friends since. He is the one person you’ve had the longest-lasting relationship with, though you consider yourselves to be of sibling closeness and not that of mates. You are also sometimes referred to as “Nippon’s Search-and-Rescue Squad.” 12 years ago, you and Karasu found an orphaned infant Red Moon mortal girl on an old battlefield and took her back to Gaiden Shrine. She grew up to be Miho, the shrine maiden who currently lives with you and the other rogue kamis.
