Synopsis
  • Three weeks later, as Batman lies broken and comatose, Robin continues to feel guilt that he didn't act sooner. He worries that if Batman never wakes up, their last memories of him would be of his mentor blaming him for the wrong reasons. Suddenly, Batman wakes up, and whispers to Robin that he had made the right decision after all.
  • Two-Face has Batman dragged to the roof of the old Gotham Municipal Courthouse in Old Town - the same place where Sal "Boss" Maroni disfigured him years ago. He holds a mock trial for Batman, denying him voir dire, clemency, or change of venue with a flip of his coin. He requests the death penalty, preceded by the unmasking of Batman.
  • In the Batcave, Robin searches on the Batcomputer for any information he can find that will help him locate Two-Face. He is restricted to this method, because Batman forbid him from actually participating in the mission. With few options, Robin and Alfred get into their van and drive around looking for potential hideouts for Two-Face.
  • Robin appears, and looses a rock with his sling into Two-Face's head, despite Batman's warnings. Two-Face nearly falls to his death, but Batman lets himself drop, catches Two-Face, and then launches a grappling wire to swing to safety. As the GCPD escorts Two-Face away, Batman scolds Robin for his actions which could have killed their enemy.
  • Two-Face's goons prepare to fish Batman out of the Gotham River. Suddenly, Batman yanks the goons into the water with him, knowing that he would have no advantage if he climbed into their boat. However, despite his efforts, someone knocks him on the back of the head with an oar, and he falls unconscious.
  • Two-Face demands to know who why Batman turned his back on their deal to work together on prosecuting Gotham's criminal element. Batman responds that Harvey Dent's obsession with his job changed him, and made Batman lose confidence in his partnership. Two-Face loses patience, and shoots his appointed judge before deciding to let the coin decide Batman's fate. Of course, Batman is found guilty, and just as Two-Face fires his gun, Batman knocks his chair backwards and breaks free from his bindings.
  • Meanwhile, Robin and Alfred deduce Two-Face's location, and Robin rides a wrecking ball up to the roof, where they send the "jurors" of the trial scattering. Robin handles the remaining goons while Batman chases after Two-Face. Two-Face escapes into a construction site, and Batman follows. They fight high above the ground, eventually falling, and they both hang precariously from a suspended girder. Of course, Batman helps Two-Face up onto the girder exhausting himself as he dangles from the edge. Two-Face is not so charitable, and attempts to knock Batman to the ground below.
