Kaon gelingt es, einen Teil der primitiven Bevölkerung um sich zu scharen und wird so zu einem einflussreichen Kriegsherr in der Region. Seine Frau bringt bald darauf eine Tochter zur Welt und verstirbt im Kindbett. Jahre später wird Kaons Tochter Kara von den Männern Vegars, einem alten Widersacher Kaons, entführt. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt landet der Sechste Doctor auf dem Planeten und da Kaon ihn bereits kennt (der Doctor ihn jedoch noch nicht), bittet er ihn um Hilfe bei der Befreiung Karas. Der Doctor erklärt sich bereit zu helfen und so gelangen sie mit der TARDIS ins Innere von Vegars Burg. Dort kommt es zu einem Zweikampf zwischen den beiden Kriegsherrn, den Kaon zwar gewinnt, doch Vegars Diener ersticht ihn hinterrücks, so dass Kara zwar befreit, aber nun ohne Vater ist (War-Game).
