Route 9 was a Pennsylvania rural highway at "the foothills of the Arklay Mountains". It was closed by the Raccoon Police Department in mid-July 1998 with a roadblock in response to the disappearance of three hikers earlier in the week. By now the number of killings had reached nine, with another three disappearances.

- About midway up the mountain side the path will split off and dip down to a shallow sandy depression. Here you will find a cave entrance.
- Route 9 is a forest route that connects Rosecove City, Route 10, Grove of Dreams and Fortulose Manor. It is surrounded by trees and has a cozy atmosphere. A noticable spot of the route is the giant tree located at the centre, which is a symbol of life and eternity of Route 9. A Moss Rock is also present on this route, allowing Eevee to evolve into Leafeon upon levelling up on this route.
- Route 9 leads away from Dronia City, towards the coast, and contains the entrance to the Scrapyard.
