| - Known as John ‘Good Samaritan’ Robinson, John entered the headlines after interfering in the business of a mob boss’s son. After being abducted from his house by the mob he was held in a steelworks near Blackgate Isle. Despite the rescue attempt by Batgirl III John Robinson succumbed to injuries sustained during incarceration and died during the escape, handing over a letter of apology to his wife just before passing away.
There is debate over whether or not Batgirl failed John Robinson, while she did rescue him and captured the man responsible for his capture and imprisonment his death is regarded by Batman as her failure to him. Oracle thinks otherwise.
