__NOWYSIWYG__ Hello again! My War Room topic is that I think the "Fire Nation Capital" page should be changed to "Fire Nation Capital City." Here's why: actually, I think an example would work better: the American Revolution is known by 2 names - the "American Revolution" and the "Revolutionary War." So when Wikipedia, when it needed to make a page for it, it didn't choose 1 name over the other, it instead COMBINED the names to "American Revolutionary War"! I think we should do the same thing. How's this: So what do you think? Should we change it? Excelsior!

  • __NOWYSIWYG__ Hello again! How's this: The Fire Nation Capital City, also known as Capital City,[1] is the seat of government in the Fire Nation. It is home.... So what do you think? Should we change it? Excelsior! SorcererSupreme21 (wall • contribs) 17:07, March 25, 2015 (UTC) That's sort of a backwards logic to me, no offense, taking two official names to make it into a self-fabricated, unconfirmed name. 17:12, March 25, 2015 (UTC) Then, in that case, we can use the {{conjecture<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>}} template, though that would be a bit pointless, as there isn't any actual name for it, it has always been called the FN capital or Capital City, and as these both seem equally possible names for it, why not combine them? This is just my opinion, though, but still, I think that it's better that we combine the names. Plus, adding "City" to "FN Capital" seems more of an official term for it. Again, this is just my opinion, I just want to know what other people think. SorcererSupreme21 (wall • contribs) 20:09, March 25, 2015 (UTC) Yes, we could use that, but why would we when we actually have confirmed names? Why change canon for basically fanon? It's not really about "what do we think would be the best name for the city", it's about "what's confirmed". 20:15, March 25, 2015 (UTC) I never said it was fanon, but never mind that. Here's a better reason: The FN Capital is a city, and a capital, and it's canonically (if that's a word) known as "Capital City". But we can't just name the article "Capital City," as that is very broad, so we'd have to add "Fire Nation" to the beginning to specify that it's the actual capital city of the Fire Nation, therefore identifying it as that. And like I said before, or we can begin in with "The Fire Nation Capital City, also known as the Fire Nation Capital or Capital City[1], is...." I added the other alternative name (FN capital) so that at least the main description (is that what's that section called? does anybody know what section's called?) of the article has both of those canonical names, so they'd both be included. SorcererSupreme21 (wall • contribs) 20:38, March 25, 2015 (UTC) I know you didn't say that, I said that, since fanon in its essential meaning refers to something that's made up by fans, which a name comprised out of two canon names, but never been used in an official source, would be. I completely understand your reasoning, but I just don't see the point of changing a canon name to a made up name. 21:06, March 25, 2015 (UTC) Again, how is this fanon? How exactly is "Fire Nation Capital City" fanon? SorcererSupreme21 (wall • contribs) 00:17, March 26, 2015 (UTC) I explained that already: fanon is defined as "a term used in fanfiction to describe commonly accepted ideas among authors even if they are not actually expressed in the canon work." In this context, your proposed name has never been used in canon works. It has no official source backing it up, it is solely a fan-made fabrication by throwing two canon names together. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand your reasoning behind it, I just don't really see why we should move away from a confirmed name to one that would need the conjecture template. 00:35, March 26, 2015 (UTC) Per LL, I don't see any reason to deviate from a canon-confirmed name.
