The event featured talent from EWE Thunder and Xplosion, Punk Wrestling Extreme as well as talent from independent ewrestling promotion Argentina Wrestling Association. As with other Destination X events, the ePPV features EWE face off against an international indepedent epromotion. For the 2008 event, EWE went up against Argentina's AWA. Destination X 2008 also featured a double main event, a Tag Team match between EWE Champion Kevin Gillmore and AWA superstar Adelmar against EWE's Tommy Cage and AWA World Champion Sebastian, and a Fatal-4-Way match for the PWE Championship between champion Brock Lesnar and PWE superstars Tony Buirnquist, Marcus XK8R and Chrys Tathers. As with last year's Destination X, the event featured 3 epromotions, with EWE, AWA and PWE all featuring superstars in the event.
