Many thought that Averian was the one who instigated the conflict and this is the accepted story throughout the spiritual realms at large. Only those close to Kenji, however, know who truly started it all. Kenji, in reprisal for the murder of Anika Shihōin, promised to crush Averian under his boot and claimed he didn't care who or what got in his way; this declaration spurred Averian to declare war to test Kenji's resolve.
