- The Republic Draggulch Period began with the Fourth Great Schism in 2,014 BBY, when the charismatic Umbaran Jedi Master, Phanius, left the Order. He would later become known as Darth Ruin after he fell to the dark side and created his own Sith Order with fifty fellow Jedi Knights and Padawans. Although Ruin was eventually killed by his own followers he was soon replaced by a former Padawan, Jurid Tasiquor, who would lead the Sith to greatness. For centuries, the Sith were all but unstoppable, rampaging throughout the galaxy and winning great victories, such as at Rendili.

abstract
| - The Draggulch Period was an era of galactic history that coincided with the New Sith Wars, a galaxy-spanning conflict that lasted from 2000 BBY to 1000 BBY.
The protracted wars of this era would later be known to the Republic as the Light and Darkness War, or the New Sith Wars, and to the Sith as the War of the Fittest and the Curse of Qalydon. They lasted from approximately 2,000 to 1,000 BBY. The last century of the conflict is commonly known as the Republic Dark Age.
