However, an encounter with a Rexon made Sonic transform into Super Sonic, who escaped the eruption. Super Sonic then managed to contain the eruption, saving the local villagers. The speed cocoon cooled the molten rock until it solidified, which Sonic had moulded into a statue of himself. The Seismotron was likely destroyed by the eruption it had triggered.
