As Leia and Epin reached the palace, they noticed Bail Organa, Leia’s adoptive father, standing outside the gates. Bail was Queen Breha's husband, which Epin assumed, made him king. Bail was in his late fifties, but never let this slow him down, as he could be seen daily on the streets of Aldera, interacting with the people. He was Alderaan's senator during the early days of the Empire, and was a hero of the so-called Clone Wars. Or so he was told. When it came down to it however, regardless of what he was told or read about Bail Organa, Epin had quite a bit of respect for him. Because no matter what, Bail always tried to lend a helping hand wherever and whenever he could and he treated everyone equally.

  • As Leia and Epin reached the palace, they noticed Bail Organa, Leia’s adoptive father, standing outside the gates. “Leia, what took you so long? I was worried something had happened, so I called Madame Vesta, but she informed me you had already left. I was ready to send out the troops!” Bail said in a concerned, but noticeably joking manner. He was wearing a long dark blue robe which fell to just above his feet. Underneath this robe he wore a light blue shirt and black pants with black shoes. “I’m sorry, but I was with Epin. He’s hurt, do we have any bacta patches for him?” Leia said as she ran toward him and into his embrace. Though Bail could be considered somewhat overprotective of Leia, he never once made her feel like he was being that way. She knew that he loved her, and only wanted what was best for her. Though, she couldn't help but get some kind of enjoyment out of seeing just how far she could push him. “Epin? Is he okay? Anything serious?” Bail asked looking to Epin, who was making his way to them. "He got attacked by Arod and his gang again, he says his ribs are bothering him." Leia said as she let go of Bail. “I’m fine, really, I don’t need anything. I just wanted to be sure Leia made it home okay.” Epin said quickly. “Well, I appreciate that my boy." Bail said as he placed a hand on Leia's shoulder. "I'm certain I don't need to say that Leia’s very important to me. If anything were to happen to her, I don’t know what I would do.” He stroked the back of her head once, then leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Now Leia, what is it you were you doing before you found Epin?" “That old hag Vesta made me stay after and do chores.” Leia said looking towards Epin, who responded with a smile. Bail took a step back. “Leia, now what did I tell you about talking like that, address her properly.” “Oh, I, um. Sorry dad.” Leia said, lowering her head. “It’s ‘Old hag Madame Vesta’!” Bail said, placing his hand under Leia's chin and lifting her head. He winked at her, and patted her on the back. They laughed, and Leia hugged Bail once more. Afterward, she turned to Epin. “Thanks for walking me home Epin.” Epin smiled at her, and tried to maintain his composure, but ended up stumbling over his own words. “N.. No problem, P..princess." He answered. He then swallowed hard and continued, though he squeaked out the first few words. "I had fun spending time with you.” Leia giggled and ran off toward the palace. She enjoyed listening to Epin stutter his sentences, and found herself sorry that she had to leave him. Epin and Bail watched as Leia ascended a stairway and opened the door. Though before she entered, she turned to wave to them. They each returned one of their own as she disappeared inside, closing the door behind her. “I better get going sir. My mom’s probably worried.” Epin finally said. “Very well. Tread carefully. And thank you for seeing Leia home.” Bail said as he entered and began shutting the gate. “Thanks, I’ll be careful. And it was nothing, really. Leia’s a cool girl, I like her a lot.” Epin replied. “Yes, she’s cool all right." Bail laughed. "Good night Epin." With that, Bail made his way up to the palace as Epin turned and started home. “Mom's probably worried sick. I better hurry!” He said as he broke into a run. Even though he regretted not accepting the medical aid Bail had offered him, the pain he felt now was nothing compared to the punishment he would probably receive from his father. He had made the choice however, and he enjoyed spending time, albeit only a small amount, with Leia. Alderaan Affair Part II - Part IV
