Herrerasaurus means 'Herrera's Lizard' for the discoverer Don Victorino Herrera. Herrerasauruses grow to about 16.5 feet long and live everywhere. It isn't the biggest predator although other giants are not dinosaurus. They are in fact Crocodilians. Unlike the other giant killers, Herreasaurus stands on it's hind legs. It is a very fierce predator.

  • Herrerasaurus was a small carnivore living in the isle which has been noted to have excellent night vision with a known aggressive and territorial behavior with an overall stamina of a high metabolic rate.
  • Herrerasaurus was one of the earliest dinosaurs. Its name means "Herrera's lizard", after the rancher who discovered the first specimen. All known fossils of this carnivore have been discovered in rocks of Carnian age (late Triassic according to the ICS, dated to 231.4 million years ago) in northwestern Argentina. The type species, Herrerasaurus ischigualastensis, was described by Osvaldo Reig in 1963 and is the only species assigned to the genus. Ischisaurus and Frenguellisaurus are synonyms.
  • Herrerasaurus is a genus of basal theropod from the Carnian age of the Late Triassic period, around 231 million years ago. It contains one species, H.ischigulastensis.
  • Herrerasaurus was one the first dinosaurs and that ever lived. It was native to South America and was the apex predator of its homeland.
  • Herrerasaurus was a small to medium-sized carnivorous dinosaur from the Triassic period, featured in the Zoo Tycoon expansion, Dinosaur Digs.

  • Herrerasaurus (meaning "Herrera's lizard", after the name of the rancher who discovered the first fossil of the animal) was one of the earliest dinosaurs. All known specimens of this carnivore have been discovered in rocks of early Carnian age (late Triassic, around 228 million years ago) in northwestern Argentina. The type species, Herrerasaurus ischigualastensis, was described by Osvaldo Reig in 1963 and is the only species assigned to the genus. The names Ischisaurus and Frenguellisaurus are synonymous with Herrerasaurus.
  • The herrerasaurus was a type of theropod dinosaur. They were small predators, only five feet long and three hundred pounds, but fast and very vicious. They had excellent vision and hearing and a powerful sense of smell.
  • For many years, the classification of Herrerasaurus was unclear because it was known from very fragmentary remains. It was hypothesized to be a basal theropod, a basal sauropodomorph, a basal saurischian, or not a dinosaur at all but another type of archosaur. However, with the discovery of an almost complete skeleton and skull in 1988, Herrerasaurus has been classified as either an early theropod or an early saurischian in at least five recent reviews of theropod evolution, with many researchers treating it at least tentatively as the most primitive member of Theropoda.
  • Herrerasaurus was one of the earliest carnivorous dinosaurs. It lived in what is now Argentina, during the Late Triassic Period (Carnian stage). Herrerasaurus was named after Victorio Herrera, the farmer who first noticed its fossils in outcrops near San Juan in 1959, although a complete skull was not found until 1988. The book The Dinosaur Hunters, by David Spalding, identifies Victorino (not Victorio) Herrera as a goatherd and states that Osvaldo Reig was the paleontologist who suggested the name. It has been brought into wider notice by Paul Sereno. It is estimated that Herrerasaurus could reach up to 15 feet (5 meters) in length. It was a bipedalism carnivore, which most likely fed on small and medium-sized animals. It had strong hind limbs with short thighs and rather long feet, whic
