  • Soul Mirror is a relic from the Highborne era, probably created in the city of Eldre'thalas after the Sundering tore Azeroth apart. The mirror eventually passed to a man who met his end in the hands of demons in the Felfire Hill, and it was shattered and forgotten under layers of ground, dust and fel-tainted weed in Ashenvale. After the Shattering shook the world, the fragments of the Soul Mirror were found by a small group of adventurers known as the New Dawn Expedition. Their leader, Aenor Dawnblade, became curious of the mirror's history and the archaic writing engraved in its frame, and eventually the Expedition managed to not only collect all the fragments of the mirror but also restore it and discover its powers. This discovery didn't come without a cost, however, as Aenor almost managed to get his soul sucked into the mirror, resulting in the temporary appearance of a "shadow personality". After the incident, the members of the New Dawn Expedition decided that the mirror should preferably be never used again although they did not dare to destroy it completely. It is currently stashed in Aenor's family vault, locked in a small chest along with basic instructions in case something went wrong again. (N.B. Although the Soul Mirror found by the New Dawn Expedition is the only one currently known one, multiple copies could possibly exist, and some of them might not even have the same abilities as the one described above. Given that it spend ages in Fel-drenched environment, the demonic energies may have affected the mirror's powers.)
