The Defiant was a warship constructed by the Terran rebellion in the mirror universe, based on the Starfleet Defiant-class prototype. (DS9: "Shattered Mirror", "The Emperor's New Cloak") Following the rebels capture of Terok Nor in 2372 they recognised that they were going to need more powerful warships to combat against the eventually Klingon-Cardassian Alliance counterattack to reclaim the station. They started to construct a replica of the Defiant based on schematics "Smiley" O'Brien had "acquired" from his previous visit to the primary universe. The ship ran into the same problems the original Defiant had with been overpowered, with the Alliance bearing down on them the rebellion persuaded Benjamin Sisko from the primary universe to assist in modifying the ship. (DS9: "Shattered Mirror

  • The Defiant was a warship constructed by the Terran rebellion in the mirror universe, based on the Starfleet Defiant-class prototype. (DS9: "Shattered Mirror") With the Alliance fleet due to arrive before the ship was ready for battle Julian Bashir and Jadzia Dax went to delay the fleet with the rebel's only operational raider by creating "warp shadows". The Klingon Kruge joined in the delaying attack to honor a fallen hero of the rebellion, he used an inverse graviton burst further delaying the fleet. (DS9: "Shattered Mirror"; "A Debt of Honor") Together these tactics delayed the fleet long enough for the Defiant to be operational just as the attack on the station began. In the ensuing battle the Defiant destroyed a number of Alliance warships and heavily damaged the Regent's flagship, forcing the Alliance into a humiliating retreat. (DS9: "Shattered Mirror") The Defiant was still operational in 2375 when the rebels captured Regent Worf, transporting him back to Terok Nor on the Defiant. (DS9: "Emperor's New Cloak")
