He served as a consulting producer from the second season until the fourth season. He has also worked on the series Kings as a director, helming "The Sabbath Queen" in 2009. Prior to writing for Fringe he worked extensively as a feature film writer including the films A Beautiful Mind (2001), I, Robot (2004), The Da Vinci Code (2006), and I Am Legend (2007). He received an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the 2001 film, A Beautiful Mind, which also won the Oscar for Best Picture.
