When a bounty hunter razed the Sin Quan's home and workshop to the ground, Kyle and Jarren Sin Quan were not the only two people there. Kyle's friend had called and asked Kyle to do some repairs on an old speeder-bike. When the bounty hunter fired on the building and set it alight, Kyle's friend and his father were killed, and Kyle horrifically burnt. He managed to drag himself onto the speeder-bike and escape as the building collapsed around him. When he awoke in a Coruscant alleyway two days later, Lee had already mistaken Kyle's friend for him and gone to hunt down the bounty hunter and the contract payers.

Back on the streets, Kyle eventually became involved with some of Coruscant's unfavorable citizens. He spent the majority of his time since Lee's departure working (practically a slave) for one of the Criminal Cartels in the Galactic City. Having now escaped Coruscant and his "employers" he has made his way to Yavin VIII, in search of a new life and a way to prevent others from suffering like he has.
