The Creator and the Seer is the second album from Swedish metal band Shadow Voyage, released on May 15th 1993 via Brutal Theatre. On The Creator and the Seer, unlike 1991's A Night of Daggers, the band make a radical departure to a more melodic death metal sound, which alienated many fans in the process. When interviewed on the decision, Erik Sturgens said he has no resentment on the choices the band made for their future. It is the last album to feature drummer Tyven Wodnottsol, who departed stating he disliked the band's new direction. It is followed by 1995's Painted In Tears.

It is the last album to feature drummer Tyven Wodnottsol, who departed stating he disliked the band's new direction. It is followed by 1995's Painted In Tears. The album was re-issued in 2003 with bonus tracks and live songs, as well as a custom Shadow Voyage guitar pick signed by Martin Vargeld, the band's guitarist. The band did well with the record, but it alienated their death metal fans a lot, and controversially in 2007 guitarist Niklas Sturgens said at a concert: "Fuck you if you don't like us! All those fans who abandoned us after A Night of Daggers, we don't give a fuck about you". When interviewed about the comment Niklas denied it, saying it was in the heat of the moment.
