abstract
  • These small reptilian creatures are inhabitants of various warm climate areas with varying amounts of rainfall. They are brightly colored reptiles with colors that often either serve as a warning to larger predators or as camouflage for hunting. While they are not large, they pack a potent punch. Each variety of Nabac gecko boasts a powerful spit that is comprised of poison derived from the plants they consume. However, even though they consume plants, the use of these plants is to generate the toxins stored in their tail to attack small insects (sometimes small mammals if the geckos are in large numbers). The Nabac's tail is where it stores the potent poison it carries. After consuming a particular fruit or veggie, it harvests the poison to spit at prey. Should a predator attack it, it releases the tail, often killing the animal that eats it. This tail then grows back over the course of a week, but will not be of it's former size for up to a year.
