Arthur McGregor (d. 1922) was a Canadian farmer from Manitoba, and an infamous terrorist. After the United States invaded Canada during the Great War, Arthur's son, Alexander, was executed as a guerrilla. McGregor became an insurgent in retaliation, carrying out several bombing attacks. He targeted U.S. troops and officials, but as he grew more callous, he willingly killed his fellow Canadians, particularly if he saw them as collaborators.

After the United States invaded Canada during the Great War, Arthur's son, Alexander, was executed as a guerrilla. McGregor became an insurgent in retaliation, carrying out several bombing attacks. He targeted U.S. troops and officials, but as he grew more callous, he willingly killed his fellow Canadians, particularly if he saw them as collaborators. Despite their suspicions, the U.S. occupation authorities never proved McGregor was an insurgent during the war. After the war, McGregor decided to kill General George Armstrong Custer, the military governor of Occupied Canada. Custer was aware of McGregor and convinced of his guilt. When McGregor's first attempt to kill Custer failed (because Custer walked outside the building to replace his broken dentures), Custer was put on guard. When McGregor appeared at a farewell parade to celebrate Custer's retirement, Custer was prepared. McGregor threw a bomb at Custer's motorcar, in imitation of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the infamous event which touched off the Great War back in 1914. Custer, however, was able to catch the bomb, and throw it back at McGregor. The bomb exploded at McGregor's feet, killing him instantly (along with some bystanders). Even so, it was a near-run thing; Custer noted afterward that if McGregor had cut his fuse a little shorter, the attack might well have succeeded. McGregor's daughter, Mary, continued her father's bombing campaign until her own capture and execution. McGregor was married to Maude and they had three children, Alexander, Julia and Mary.
