  • Galaxy Science Fiction was an American science fiction magazine. The magazine was a competitor of Incredible Tales of Scientific Wonder. On one occasion in 1953, Benny Russell bought an issue of Galaxy and brought it to the Incredible Tales office. Herbert Rossoff threatened to quit over the doughnuts provided at Incredible Tales and take a job at Galaxy, telling Douglas Pabst that his name would complete the lineup that included Robert A. Heinlein, Ray Bradbury and Theodore Sturgeon. Pabst doubted that Galaxy would pay Rossoff four cents a word for his stories. Pabst thought Galaxy was a "rag" publication.   • Galaxy Science Fiction was an American science fiction magazine. The magazine was a competitor of Incredible Tales of Scientific Wonder. On one occasion in 1953, Benny Russell bought an issue of Galaxy and brought it to the Incredible Tales office. Herbert Rossoff threatened to quit over the doughnuts provided at Incredible Tales and take a job at Galaxy, telling Douglas Pabst that his name would complete the lineup that included Robert A. Heinlein, Ray Bradbury and Theodore Sturgeon. Pabst doubted that Galaxy would pay Rossoff four cents a word for his stories. Pabst thought Galaxy was a "rag" publication. (DS9 episode: "Far Beyond the Stars") Ben Bova and Cordwainer Smith also wrote for Galaxy. (DS9 novelization: Far Beyond the Stars) In 1955, Benny Russell had a novelette published in Galaxy.
