Splik comes from a rich noble goblin family meaning he better educated and mannered then most of the goblin ilk. His family was in service to the Goblin King Gurb, and as such he and his 19 siblings were raised from birth to be the King’s personal assassins (“the green claw”) and had extensive training in the art of murder and assassin, even beyond the typical goblin. He was getting a lot of practice of murdering political rivals of the court and narrowing down the king’s own line of succession. Everything was going fine until one day he mistakenly murdered the king’s favorite son, Floo, instead of Gloo, the king’s cross-eyed cousin.
