| - Emerald, on a rooftop, gets called by Hemsworth. She picks up the call via bluetooth integrated into her costume. Hemsworth: Emerald, you gotta tell the mayor that he needs to work with you. I know I can trust you to deal with this. You gotta convince the mayor to do the same. Emerald: I got coordinates to Carolina’s exact location. I could tell the poli- Hemsworth: You do? Go to the Police Headquarters immediately then! Emerald: Right, gotcha. Emerald Man, standing behind his sister, looks down at the traffic. Everything has stopped and policemen have made blockades. Emerald Man sighs. Emerald Man: Look at what she has done. Look at what the TRIAD has done. Emerald: James, I need to visit the mayor. Could you get a head start on Carolina for me? Emerald Man: Certainly. It’s near the state hospital right? Emerald: Right. Emerald jumps to the next building swiftly. Emerald Man looks around, and finds the easiest way down. He jumps off the 4-story building, using his crystal bones to make his landing not crush his bones and body. ~~ Quintillus is in his locked office. He’s tapping his fingers and drinking his coffee. The stress is clearly getting to him. Then he hears knocking on his window. He opens it up. Emerald is outside. Emerald: We meet alone, and privately. Quintillus: What makes you think- Emerald: I know where to find the bomb and who the REAL Triad leader is. But we meet in private. Quintillus sighs and closes his window. In a shady parking lot, he keeps his hand near his gun on his holster. Emerald approaches. The singly light post allows Emerald’s jewelry to sparkle in the night. Quintillus inspects the costume. Quintillus: You look professional. Now please, just tell me where the bomb is. Emerald: If you think shooting me is gonna solve anything, you’re mistaken. I’m on your side. Quintillus: My hand isn’t moving anywhere. Emerald (sighing): What was it that made you guys think I was dangerous? The capitol burning? Kevin O’Reale’s fault. Now I’m gonna make it clear. I’ve been afflicted by Carolina White as well. We have bad blood. Quintillus: Carolina White, eh? The lawyer? She used to stop by Naise’s office all the time to help her clients get easier sentences. Should’ve realized she was just helping her cronies. That Barmms guy probably was a crony too... Emerald: I know he’s not. The man arrested was most definitely the culprit. Quintillus: Look we can discuss this all night or you can give me the coordinates. People’s lives are at stake here! Emerald: Please, just see me as an ally. She pulls out a written note. Quintillus reads it and inputs the location on his phone. Quintillus: Ol’ state hospital, huh? White must like her history. I’ll give these to my men. Just… Don’t say anything about this, alright? Emerald: You got it. I’m going to get a head start. Hopefully Carolina doesn’t notice me… ~~ Emerald Man hides behind some bushes. The historical state hospital reflects a beautiful light blue as the moon reflects off it’s steeple. It’s 11:23 now. Slowly, he crosses the road and makes his way to a window. It’s locked. Emerald Man: I bet all of these are locked. Emerald Man creates a thin crystal, and slides it under the window, unlocking it. Then, he opens it up and steps inside of it. The actual interior of the building is is dusty, the wallpaper is ripping off, and several chairs are on the ground, tipped over. Cobwebs decorate the corners, and the ground is littered with paper and garbage. Emerald Man: Now I need to find the Triad entrance. Emerald Man turns his ear into crystal, allowing it to amplify the noises in the building. He can clearly hear something running down the hall. He dashes to a closed door 10 meters down the hall. He tries to open it, but it’s locked. He unlocks it with a crystal shaped like a key. Then, opening the door, he only finds a running computer. Emerald Man: Oh… Oh no… He inspects the computer. Messages from Termite and several other Triad members are found in a window, popping up every few seconds. Emerald Man uses the mousepad to look at the different searches. All the search history has been wiped. Emerald Man rubs his chin, then, nearly closing the laptop, he sees a name pop up. Colt Johnson. Emerald Man: Wait… Emerald Man looks into the registered users on the computer. It’s Colt Johnson’s computer. Emerald Man frowns, and shuts the laptop. Emerald Man: She tricked us. All of us. Emerald Man runs back down the hallway. However, he hears somebody bump into something. He stays silent and still. The only thing one could hear is his breathing. Emerald: James? Are you in here? Emerald Man sighs in relief, and reveals himself. However, he’s soon stabbed in the back by a knife. Emerald Man removes the knife from his back, and blood gushes out of him. He crystalizes his back. He winces in pain. Then, looking at the knife, Emerald Man gets a flashback to the court case. Emerald Man: Oh no… The Fetch swipes Emerald Man under his legs. Emerald Man frantically looks around, but all he sees is shadows. Emerald Man gets back up on his legs, slowly becoming week. Fetch: In my domain ye will never find, the attacker who tricks yer mind. Emerald Man: So who set this up, huh? The computer? The bombs? Fetch: The one who owns my soul. The woman with the glasses... Emerald Man is punched by a hand, shrouded in darkness, as it projects out of a wall. Then, with great speed, it sinks back in. The walls become more and more grey. The shadows, like broken arms, crack along the floor and surround the crystalline hero. The world becomes blurry for Emerald Man. Emerald Man, on the ground, begins to crawl. Fetch swims out of the shadows and stands before the desperate hero. Fetch: I did not come here to spare you. He takes another knife out of his belt. Just as he raises his arm, however, a laser fires at Fetch’s arm. The light of the laser burns him. He cowers back into the shadows. Termite, badly broken, walks to the Emerald Man, and picks him up. Termite: Get up. I’ve been tricked. Emerald Man: As have I. We have no time to talk. A ghost is trying to kill me. Please get me out of here. Termite dashes down the hall, but not before he’s intercepted by Fetch. The ghost picks Termite up by the slanted armor on his chest and flips him over. Termite: I have no time for this! Out of my way! Fetch’s eyes widen as an impossibly-fast punch is thrown directly at Fetch’s face. The mask shatters for Fetch. The spirit screams. Light projects out of his eyes, and the cloud that makes up his body swirls. Then, with a burst of energy, he explodes. All that is left of Fetch is the remnants of the mask. Termite shakes Emerald Man to get back up, but he’s unconscious. Termite’s hands shake frantically. Termite: Oh hell. I got to get him to safety. Termite carries Emerald Man out of the building, stepping over the remnants of the mask. Little did the Termite know that the Fetch was gone. For all of eternity. ~~ Emerald and the police finally get the Oregon State Hospital at 11:52. The barge through the doors. After a quick search, all they find is a laptop. Quintilus is enraged. Quintilus: That vigilante threw us off! He grabs the Commissioner by the collar. Quintilus: Listen, Hawthorne! I want her arrested immediately if you ever find her! She is now public enemy number 1! Hawthorne, scared of the mayor, looks around the crime scene, and spots Emerald climbing inside the building. Hawthorne: Sir! Look! She’s getting in the building! Quintilus turns around. He sees Emerald pull her leg in through a window. Quintilus: Perfect time to capture her! Tell your men to get their fire arms ready when they see a masked woman. If she attacks, they may kill her on the spot! Emerald finds the remains of Fetch’s mask, and a trail of blood down the hallway, along with burn marks down the walls. Emerald: (James must have gotten here first, but nobody is here. What happened to him?) Officer: Hey! There she is! After her! Emerald turns around. Officers run toward her. Emerald holds her hands up. Officer: Stay where you are! You’re under arrest! Emerald looks behind her. The officer is joined by many others in his ranking. Officer: Stay right where you are! One of the officers clicks his gun. Emerald’s brows lower. Emerald: I’ve been tricked too… Officer: Silent! Emerald dashes back to the window, running from the cops. The cops begin to chase her. One, coming from another door, blocks her path. She leaps over him. One of them tries to taze her, but she pushes that officer to the side. Officer: STOP THAT WOMAN! One of the officers fires a bullet, but she crystallizes her skin so it reflects. Multiple guns then fire off of her. All the bullets reflect. However, before she can get to the window, she is blocked by a few other cops. She’s seemingly surrounded. Emerald: A fight it is. She roundhouse kicks a officer in the face, while she crystallizes again to block a rain of bullets coming her way. Some of the officers are hit back by the bullets. One even has it pierced into their neck. Emerald elbows through one officer. Within a few feet, she skips over a fallen chair and rolls through the window. Cops outside spot her and fire. Quintilus begins to yell as he sees Emerald running away from the police. Emerald hops over a car and runs to a nearby field in front of another historic building, surrounded by trees. Officer run after her, while others chase her in their cars. Then, a road blockade of police cars is spotted in front of her. Merrow watches surveillance footage of the chase. One of the bombs is inside of a car in the blockade. Inside the car is a police officer listening in on her commands. Merrow: Set it off. Now. The officer presses a button the bomb in his car, and it makes a huge explosion. Dozens of police cars flip over and officers nearby are killed in the explosion. Explosions then start going off all across the city. Civilians, cops, and buildings are all hurt or destroyed in the destruction of the bombs. With a large smile, Merrow watches the destruction on her surveillance screens. Merrow: Now, the city is mine. Officers surround Quintilus and Hawthorne with their guns. Quintilus looks around himself. Quintilus: Traitors! Hawthorne: We… Were tricked, Mayor. We’ve all been tricked. Quintilus sees the explosion in the distance. Emerald throws herself in front of a few officers. However, several of the men die. Quintilus’s head falls to his chest, and raises his arms up to surrender. Quintilus: There goes my legacy...
