The greatest of these unions were the Core World Alliance and the Hutt Empire. With both the blocs undergoing economic hardship the two sides had formed a non-aggression pact. However, legal differences threatened to tear the pact apart. The Hutt Empire's economy hinged on the slave trade. On the other hand, the Alliance was strongly against slavery and protect the rights of sentients.
