  • The Dorvain General Election, 1940 was held on the 27th May 1940 to elect the 36th Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 225 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. The Royalist-Liberal Coalition had been well received, with Maximilian Salvador's leadership of the nation being well received. The depression had eased dramatically, and the coalition's policy regarding another war being fought had also been well received, keeping Dorvain away from the conflict. As such the coalition was re-elected with a larger mandate than previously; the Royalists were only just short of a full majority whilst the Liberals had a small lead over the Democrats. Many Democratic voters were uneasy on derailing the progress the coalition made, but not being able to stomach voting Royalist, most voted Liberal. The Coalition continued for a second term.
