- Ayres was born as Gerald Hoyt Ayres Jr.. He went on to become a regular on the soap operas General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful. He also had a recurring role in the first season of the television drama series Dynasty. He appeared in seven episodes, including the pilot ("Oil") and "The Chaffeur Tells a Secret", both helmed by "Obsession" director Ralph Senensky. The former also featured Peter Mark Richman, Lee Bergere, Ellen Geer, Julie Parrish, and Paul Sorensen. Senensky also directed him in "Double Jeopardy", the pilot of Dan August, which featured Ned Romero, Susan Oliver, and Fritz Weaver. Ayres also appeared in the 1979 television movie Disaster on the Coastliner (with William Shatner and Michael Pataki and featuring the music of Gerald Fried). Ayres passed away from natural causes on May 14, 2013. He was 76. [1]
