Simon Molloy (born 24th October 1947 in London), is a British actor. Although his first job was as a journalist on the "Bridgwater Mercury", he left the newspaper to go to drama school and began his acting career at Derby Playhouse in 1972. Having made his TV debut on Coronation Street as conman Jim Potts in July 1976, he went onto appear in another seven roles: He also appeared in an episode of the programme's spin-off The Brothers McGregor as Chief Inspector Maggot.
