abstract
| - In order to standardize the color scheme used in throughout the wiki on contributor added content (tables, various boxes, and new templates) I suggest defining a color scheme for usage on such content. I created a template that try to automate this process - you could either comment on the usage of the template or on the color scheme used in it. Currently we are using two sets of colors: pale version found on Mass Effect Wiki:Manual of Style/Planets and a new dark version found on . --silverstrike 17:52, February 18, 2010 (UTC) There are considerably more schemes than just those in those two infoboxes. For example, there are a variety of table colour schemes in current use, including those used for banners and navbars. (Whether or not that should be the case is another story; I'm not even too sure why Template:Character got changed.) I think I'd prefer that we just continue with the colours inline until such a time as there's a need to change them. At that point it probably would make sense to switch to a template of CSS class based scheme. --DRY 18:25, February 18, 2010 (UTC) Regardless of the template (I understand your reluctance to start changing hundreds of articles), we need to decide on one color scheme and stay with it (at least for new content). What was already done could be changed as we go along, but for new content we need one scheme to work with. --silverstrike 18:34, February 18, 2010 (UTC) I'd say document the "white background scheme" as the de facto standard, and we'll work from there. I'd also document the table header and background colours (e.g. from Planet Index), the various navbar colours (e.g. {{QuickNavBar}}, {{QuickNavBarME}}, {{QuickNavBarME2}}, {{QuickRaceBar}}, {{Squad members footer}}, {{ME2 squad members footer}} et al.), and the various spoiler banner colours. and are good places to start. --DRY 19:00, February 18, 2010 (UTC) Please also note for the record, I'm not against changing the colour scheme. (I actually don't care much for the white background one either.) I just don't want to kick off what could be a quite large project without suitable forethought and community buy-in. --DRY 19:00, February 18, 2010 (UTC) I think at this point we should consider which scheme we want to implement. I prefer going back and fixing all instances of the white scheme to make them darker (or any other color), then start documenting the "old" scheme, which if I'm not mistaken, no one really comfortable with. On second thought, it doesn't really matter, all we will have to do is alter the color values in the proper MoS article. I'll start working on the documentation and as you said "work from there". --silverstrike 22:23, February 19, 2010 (UTC)
